San Antonio based Western retailer, Ranch at The Rim, has been nominated for the Baylor University - Texas Family Business of the Year for the third consecutive year. Again, this year, Ranch at The Rim has been awarded a 'Small Business Finalist' recognition.
The Texas Family Business of the Year awards program recognizes outstanding businesses whose families demonstrate a commitment to each other, employees and to the community in which they serve. Ranch at The Rim is today’s generation of a family legacy of successful western retail venues. What began as a small store in McAllen, Texas in 1976, has grown to five locations in the South Texas region. Today the owners of Ranch at The Rim utilize their experience owning and operating one of the “The Boot Jack” stores in McAllen and diligently work to stay true to the values that have been passed on from the generations before them.
Today, Ranch at The Rim is one of the State’s shining examples of a successful family-owned business, supporting local, state and national organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Kendall County Women’s Shelter and children’s homes and churches throughout the Texas Hill Country. Owners, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Pena of Boerne Texas, are a husband and wife team with a complimentary set of knowledge and skills. The combination of long-range vision and daily involvement in store operations helps to create a thriving, wholesome environment for employees, guests and community involvement. Recognized for their family values and dedication to supporting the San Antonio and surrounding communities through charitable giving, Ranch at The Rim has been recognized for its success and philanthropy.
“We are so honored to be recognized as strong family, successful business and supporter. Our strong faith leads us to give back through our business in every way possible,” stated owner, Selina Pena. "Starting, owning and operating a family business is the foundation of the American Dream," stresses J. David Allen, director of the Institute for Family Business and John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business. "It is our privilege to honor the dedicated, hard-working risk-takers in the state of Texas who contribute so much to our economic and social well-being."

Ranch at the Rim is proud to debut the new Cordillera Ranch boot custom designed by Ranch at the Rim.

This one of a kind boot showcases The Clubs at Cordillera Ranch official emblem for the 2011 Shindig. A pair of his and hers boots were auctioned off at over $5,000 a pair at the recent spring event. Owner, Mr. Ben Pena, gathered input and requirements from Cordillera Ranch members and Shindig committee members. He then worked with Lucchese on the unique design from top to bottom, selecting and matching every component of the boot, the type of leather, the type of heel and the placement of the Clubs at Cordillera Ranch crest.
The creation of the boots began in January 2011 with at least two pair of prototype boots produced before the final design was approved in April. Orders for the custom boots can be made for the members of the Clubs as Cordillera Ranch.
If you would like to have a pair of custom boots created for your corporation, foundation or special event, contact us today for more details.
